Nilkanteshwar Photo Gallery: Umbrella Men

The road lay narrow and straight before us, but where do we go if a split appeared? Left or right?

It was then that the umbrella men appeared. They were a duo, elderly men from the village we were passing, dressed identically. The taller of the two came round the bend of the road first, Raincloud was soon conversing with him in the Marathi, the local language.

The other man followed minutes later, a slow walker trailing behind. They must have started on this morning walk together. The umbrella men were only glad to guide us, they were men who loved to talk, for the joy of it. So even as Raincloud chatted with them, I clicked these pictures.

Nilkanteshwar Photo Gallery: We begin with a bang

Puncture
A small hole caused by a sharp object.

Yes sir, I know you know what a puncture is, but there must be somebody, somebody who is reading it for the first time. This is assuming that someone does read this blog, apart from myself.

Anyway, when I got down at the pre-decided bridge from a six seater auto, also called 'tum-tum', at half past seven on Monday morning, Raincloud called to say that the rear wheel of his motorbike had developed a puncture overnight. So, about ten minutes later, we were at this puncture repair shop.

As in a news report mode: Raincloud stated, " It's better to have a puncture now, rather than during the journey, where there wouldn't be anybody to repair it."

Scroll down to see the 'puncture man' in action...

Cellphone Clicks: man, dog, hill, kids

Finally my love for music made me buy the Nokia 6233, that also has a 2 megapixel camera.

Movie Review: AAMIR: Engrossing, tight and meaningful

What's with the red bag? You have to watch the movie for that..

Go watch it in the theaters!

Debutant director Raj Kumar Gupta and TV actor Rajeev Khandelwal as Aamir shine in this meaningful thriller about terrorism, propaganda, religion and finally conveys the sheer madness in killing people.
The only complain is the absence of any explanation as to why and how only Aamir is chosen to be the bait...otherwise engaging cinema...

Bhimashankar: Glug glug glug

Glug glug glug?
Well, those are the words you see in comic strips when a character intakes liquids.
Returning from the trek, we drank like desert travellers do in stories, on arriving upon an oasis.

I and P carry on the 'gluging' business

Bhimashankar: Bottle throwing

Resting at the middle of a forest, I got I and P to throw the bottle to each other. For the heck of it...

A Couplet by RUMI

13th century Persian poet he was.......

From nothing you become sad,
From nothing you become happy,
You are burning in a flame,
But I will not let you out
Until you are fully baked
Fully wise, and fully yourself.

Bhimashankar clicks: the 'swing' thing

Being featured on my blog, sometimes, is like being caught dancing by your parents at a dance bar, as a bar dancer, that is.
Especially if you happen to know me, and I happen to photograph you...
So I have withheld the names except for the first letter.

For example, instead of saying, " I am a bar dancer," you say," I am a B."
Let the listener do rest of the guess work...

I swings...

V too...
